But right from the first year, we have received overwhelming support from everyone around. ARBA is about people. They are our ethos, our energy and our passion that results in such stupendous events. Their annual Durga Puja, called as AMADER PUJO is the most happening Durga Puja in South Bangalore not only due to members and patrons, but also due to the great cultural interest shown by people living in & around Kanakpura Road.

KARBA is a bunch of extremely enthusiastic friends, who are blessed with a boisterous association of great people. Yes, all Bengali, and hence they have come together to celebrate the culture, the food and the bonhomie of Bengal and areas around us. But have also grown to adopt Karnataka as their home, and are doing theie best to contribute to the cultural profile of the people around.

Apart from annual get-togethers and picnics and general add, they celebrate Saraswati Puja & Lakshmi Puja with full fervor. They also celebrate the rains in our annual Barsha Baran. But our marquee program is the annual Sarbajanin Durga Puja called as AMADER PUJO. Every year we are host to the most happening Durga Puja in South Bangalore.

AMADER PUJO is not just a Durga Puja, it is celebration of the ethos of what is Bengali. Thus have Fun, Food, Adda, Goppo and of course cultural programs in the evening. One of greatest achievements is the establishment of SAPTAPADI, their own cultural troupe that practices and presents exemplary emotions of Bengal, be it the exemplary expressions of Gurudev’s writings, or the golden melody of Salil Chowdhury, Saptapadi is a troupe that has come of age. Their patron have come to expect exquisite quality from the organizers each year Saptapadi performs on Maha Shashthi.

In 2016, as AMADER PUJO celebrates 5 years, theymove from Grounds at Jaraganahalli to ELAAN Convention Center in the middle of JP Nagar’s bustling residential area, KARBA’s AMADER PUJO 2016 has become the largest Durga Puja in Bangalore today. Flanked by ELITA PROMENADE behind and by BRIGADE MILLIENIUM in the front, at Puttenahalli Main Road, Jp Nagar 7th Phase, Bangalore – 560078, is ELAAN spread across 30,000 sq ft of AC Halls, 1,50,000 sq ft of open space and has 650+ car parking, trained security at all points and 100% uninterrupted power supply, The larger hall housing the Puja and Cultural programs has a seating capacity of about 1200 people and the second hall which is 80% of that space will host a Flea Market with various amenities.

On Saptami, they shall play host to Silpanjali from Khantura village in Bengal, a troupe of extremely committed and talented performers who shall present a comprehensive show consisting of Mime, Drama, Dance and Music. This team has received multiple awards from across the country as they have performed their mixed variety programs. On Ashtami, RJ Snigdha descends on stage with a bevy of talented singers like Divya Raghavan, Ritwick Rajan, Sutirtho Mukherjee and Kunal Khushwaha who shall entertain our patrons with popular Bengali and Hindi songs.

And then there is the food. KARBA has arranged for distinctly different food arrangements for Jain, Vegetarian, Non-vegetarian food. Lip smacking delicacies will be available to all patrons to ensure that Puja flavor, where people leave home to enjoy the puja fervor and just stay on to enjoy the environment, the cultural programs and the food. And during the day, we host a variety of events and competitions that carry prizes from our sponsors. These include Drawing Competitions, Alpona Competitions, Quiz and a Treasure Hunt too!!

Every year, Nabami ushers in feet tapping music and ethnic beats of the Dhak from Bengal. In an eclectic mix of cultures, the Dandiya from the west is infused with Dhak from Bengal. DHAKIYA is now a favourite haunt of everyone who comes to AMADER PUJO, members or non-members. DHAKIYA, being serious Dandiya too, caters not only to Bengalis, but also to people from other states. KARBA provides dandiya sticks and a segregated dance area for eager dancers. The KARBA dhakis blend in and provide that tempo which merges all cultures across the country. People of all shapes and sizes from all parts of India, join in making AMADER PUJO one of the most cosmopolitan of the cultural events around.
