Ranjani started her journey in the field of Bharatanatyam at an early age of 7. The tutelage from Guru Kalamandalam Usha Dattar moulded her learning process. While pursuing dance training from her, Ranjani completed her junior examination in June 2002 and senior examination in May 2009, from Karnataka State Education Examination Board. In par with learning Bharatanatyam, she also had the privelege to learn ‘Yakshagana’ – a folk art from the age of 14, from Guru Shrinivas Sastan of Karnataka Kala Darshini for nine years and has performed extensively in a number of prasangas.

After completion of her Bachelors in Commerce, she joined Rukmini Devi College of Fine Arts – Kalakshetra Foundation, Thiruvanmiyur- Chennai. She passed out as a Diploma graduate in Bharatanatyam from this esteemed institution in May 2016.

She is currently a senior faculty member at KalaSampada – Kendra for Fine Arts, Rajarajeshwarinagar, Bangalore, founded by Vidushi Guru Smt. Veena C S. Guru Smt. Veena has been her mentor and a great source of motivation for Ranjani in all her endeavors.

Under the abled guidance of Guru Srinivas Sastan, she learnt the beautiful art-form and had the wonderful privilege to perform on various occasions such as ISKON Brahmhotsava, Hampi Utsav to name a few along with her guru and his team, Karnataka Kaladarshini which gave her a wider perspective of the dance art-form.

While she learned dance, she always considered it extremely important to understand the other aspects to be a more complete artist and so, she deliberately took to learning Carnatic Vocals and Mridangam under the efficient tutelage of her teachers, Late Smt. Lalitha Nanjundiah and Guru H S Krishnamurthy respectively. Currently she is learning Hindustani Vocals under Guru Lalitha Sharma, a disciple of Pandit Jasraj of the Mewati Gharana. She took to learning Hindustani vocals with the idea of collaborating the Bharatanatyam dance form with the Hindustani style of music.
