They are from Coorg, the birth place of river Cauvery. They were born to Sri Ambale Satyaprasad, a mridangist of known merit and Smt. Alakananda on 16th July, 1996. They are currently studying Information Science Engineering at JIT, Bangalore (II year).

Heramba Hemantha hail from a rich cultural tradition. They are the grandsons of “Bhakthi Sangeetha Ratna” Sri Ambale Subbarao, an esteemed Musician, cultural personality, writer and guru. Their aunt, Vid. Ambale Rajeshwari is one of the senior most dance gurus of Mysore Bharatanatyam tradition. Their other aunt Vidushi Late Bharati Shyamanna was a scholarly musician. Being born in a musical family, they developed a sound taste in music and started learning both carnatic vocal and carnatic flute at the age of 7.

Heramba Hemantha picked up the basic nuances of classical vocal, bharatanatyam at a very early age. They began perfecting vocal techniques and ideas from their scholarly aunt Vid. Bharati Shyamanna. At the right age, at the behest of their father’s keen passion towards instrumental music, they picked up the art of playing flute from the renowned flautist, Late Sri Mysore A. V. Prakash.

They are currently pursuing carnatic music under the supreme guidance of well-known carnatic vocalist, Guru Sri Neyveli Santhanagopalan, Chennai.

The duo is well appreciated for their perfect synchronization and the blend which makes the rasikas feel as if they are listening to a single flute. Heramba Hemantha naturally demonstrate depth and proximity to the lyrical aspect of composition, representing the gayaki style of music.
Achievements The duo travel widely and have performed in various prestigious sabhas in the country accompanied by accomplished and senior artists. They have received favourable reviews, applause and valuable appreciation from scholars and laymen for their performances.
