‘Smile with Nadig’ Cartoon Exhibition of works by S.K.Nadig.

Indian Institute of Cartoonists will be organizing ‘Smile with Nadig’ Cartoon Exhibition of works by S.K.Nadig.

Mr.S.K Nadig, popular with Kannada readers for many decades, was born in Shimoga on 6th May, 1928. His first cartoon was published in ‘Minimag’ in 1948. His cartoons have also been published in Shankar’s Weekly and Caravan.

He has worked as an assistant editor with Chithragupt magazine. Apart from skits he has also published novels namely Bannada Chitte, Kanasinolagondu Kanasu and Kanneshwara Rama. The last novel has been made a film in Kannada and Hindi.

Nadig was retired as Deputy Accounts Officer in the Mysore Paper Mills, Bhadravathi. He is one of the founders of Karnataka cartoonists Association and a recipient of Karnataka Media Academy Award and Lifetime Achievement Award from IIC. He had contributed pocket cartoons to Udayavani Kannada daily. Nadig expired on 29th November 2008.
