Indian Council for Cultural Relations and Department of Kannada and Culture Presents Veena Recital by Ms.Apoorva Anirudh from Bengaluru at Every Friday Cultural Evening Programme

apoorva-anirudhApoorva is learning under the able guidance of honorable Guru Vidushi Meera Vijayakumar from the age of eleven. She is also training under the guidance of the distinguished vocalist Ganakalashree RA Rama Mani, since 2012.

She is currently pursuing Master of Performing Arts(Music, Veena) at the Bangalore University, Jnanabharati campus, Bangalore under the guidance of visiting professor Mrs. Manjula Surendra.

She has completed her Engineering in Instrumentation Technology, with distinction, from M.S.Ramaiah Institute of Technology in 2011 and is currently working as Software Engineering Analyst at SLK Software.

Apoorva has always had an inclination towards Carnatic music from a very young age. She has learnt from various Gurus and been appreciated for her learning ability and her graceful baani of playing the Veena, as guided by Guru Vidushi Meera Vijayakumar.

She was an active participant in competitions held by various Sabhas, for the junior level. She has been a winner in the Competition organized by Academy of Music, Chowdiah Memorial Hall.

She achieved her first milestone in the field of music, when she passed the “Senior” Exam in Carnatic Instrumental (Veena) Examination, Karnataka Board, with FIRST CLASS at the age of 15. She then, started performing with her Guru in various ensembles.

Apoorva also learnt vocal music and passed the junior grade with distinction, under the tutelage of Guru Smt.Manorama of Vyalikaval.

She has performed in the “Nada Namana” Music Festival (2013, 2014 & 2015) organized by Karnataka College of Percussion. She has performed at the Sri Rama Seva Pratishtana Trust, Amruthahalli and many other Sabhas, for Tyagaraja & Purandaradasara Aradhanes, RamaNavami and Dussera concerts, and received applaud for her graceful and expressive music. She has also performed in Sri Raghavendra Swami Matha in Pune.

Apart from solo performances, she has also performed in Panchaveene and Trio–Veene ensembles in more than 50 wedding concerts.

She has performed in the World’s largest symphony of South Indian Classical Music which included 825 Veenas, at the Silver Jubilee Celebrations of the Art of Living foundation, 2006. Apoorva was also an integral part of “Samvaada”, a cultural extravaganza of music & dance at Shankara, Kanakapura Road, conceptualized by the Lions club of Bangalore, Ladybird in 2009.

She has performed with her Guru at the inauguration of the Amruthahalli Amphitheatre which was appreciated by the presiding dignitaries.

Apoorva has also performed for the musically inclined at The Leela, South Indies and other venues. She has also represented her college MSRIT in VTU Fests and other inter-collegiate competitions and won recognition. She has recorded for a charitable trust, for an audio recording of Devotional songs of AyyapaSwami.

She has collaborated with other Instrumentalists from MSRIT, to form a band called “SRiSHTi”. The collaboration included Western Instruments and other Indian instruments like Violins, Tabla, Recorder, Guitars, Keyboard, Djembe, Cagon & Nagari. They have performed at College Fests, Charity events & Sunday jams

They also recorded an album – The Beginning (soundcloud.com/srishtitheband ), which was appreciated very much and aired on a popular radio show on RadioOne. An appreciative article was published, about the uniqueness of the band, in Bangalore Mirror. They were also invited to Mumbai for a recording with UTV Bindass for a reality show.

Daughter of Vani & K.S.Ramachandra (retired officers from ISRO/Dept of Space), she has always received constant support and encouragement to pursue the art.
Married to Dr. Anirudh (Veterinary Surgeon) since 2014, she has continued to receive support
