In this series, we attempt to recreate the magic of an artist who has stood the test of time. This month we celebrate the writings of Saadat Hasan Manto.

A Tribute to Saadat Hasan Manto, one of the greatest writers of Indian subcontinent, an Indian soul trapped in Pakistan. Saadat Hasan Manto, fondly referred to as ‘Manto’, wrote more than 270 short stories, few movie scripts and plays before dying at an early age of forty two in Lahore, Pakistan. A short span of his writing carrier can be easily divided into two phases, the first one consisting of a wide range of experiences and the second, being a result of the impact of partition and his experiences thereof. The pure simplicity of language and honest depiction of the incidents and experiences, makes him an exceptional Indian writer in Hidustani language. We invite you to come and revisit ‘Manto’ in all his splendour on 17th December.

The Cast and Crew of the play are Chandrama Deshmukh, Deevas Gupta and Vidyashanker Mishra.
