Sringaramani Padmini Shreedhar is a performing artiste, a Promoter and Exponent of Mysore school of Bharathanatya(Karnataka nritya parampara) for the past 32 years. She is a Home science graduate and holds a post graduate diploma in Choreography under the guidance of Internationally reputed Choreographer Dr. Maya Rao. She holds Master’s degree in Performing arts(2010-12) and Master of Philosophy(mphil-2015) from Jain University.She is a faculty member at the Natya institute of Kathak and Choreogrphy.
After a decade-and-a-half hiatus , Padmini Shreedhar who had carved a niche in the field of Bharathanatya as a competent performing artiste of Bangalore , has had wonderful oppurtunities of performing at Nitya Nritya, Kinkini , Bangalore; Dasara fesitval, Purandara festival, Vishwa kannada Sammelana,Mysore; Natyanjali,Chidambaram , Young dancers fesitval , National level Dance festivals at Chennai, Mumbai and Delhi; Sur singar samsad and Haridas Sammelan,Mumbai, Mangalore Bharatha Jayanthi.
She is an A grade Doordarshan Artiste, empanelled artiste of ICCR, junior fellowship awardee (2008-2010) by Human resources department of culture ,New Delhi. Has participated in seminars , talks, paper presentations on topics like Navarasas in classical music and dance; folk dances of Assam; Kathakali costume and make-up; Kuchipudi history and repertoire; Relevant themes in classical dance of today. Padmini has been fortunate to have been given Oppurtunity to Organize colloquiems for Dancers for 2 years in succession while working under Karnataka Nrityakala Parishat. In 2011 February Padmini was part of the popular Dance Discourse discussion on Mysore Bani Conducted by Art Historian Ashish Khokar.
Padmini Shreedhar cherishes her stint for 3 years as an educational consultant for the prestigious NIE programme of Times Of India, Bangalore and for a decade as a dance tutor and In-House Choreographer at the National public School, Rajajinagar. During this period she has choreographed innumearable number of dances, Science related dance features, Contemporary, historical and Mythological themes.
Iskcon Has felicitated Padmini Shreedhar for inculcating Indian cultural interests in school children and for active participation in the heritage fest for consecutive 5 years .She is the recipient of Sai award-2012 and Bharatha Prashasthi -2016(udupi).She has been featured in the prestitious Ananya Monthly journal –Abhivyakthi as one of the dance icons.
Padmini is propogating fine arts as the Artistic director of Nrityagana Academy For Performing Arts Rajarajeswarinagar, under which 100 young aspirants are training for classical dance, music, guitar and keyboard. Presently serving as the Advisory Panel member of Karnataka Nrityakala Parishath after a term of three years during which she served as the treasurer successfully. PadminiShreedhar is also on the board of members for the Bharathanatya text which is to be renewed and published by the KSEEB.
Mrs. Shreedhar has choreographed a dance drama-‘ Vaidya raja Namasthubyam’. She has successfully presented her pupils at dance festivals- Sai Nrityotsav, Shantala Arts Academy-Dasara Utsav , Chinna kala Nadam and Sadhana Sangama annual Dance festival , Shimoga-pavitraangana, Channapatna Varadaraja temple, Kalasindhu Dasara festival, Nitya Nritya-2015, Shantala nritya vaibhava and many more chamber concerts.
She has also been instrumental in conducting the Annual Jahnavi Memorial Classical festival since 10 years under the Rajarajeshwarinagar Cultural Association Banner for which she is the Joint Secretary. This organization was the Brainchild of Eminent Musician Late Swarakokila Jahnavi Jayaprakash.
