#GetOffline – A Panel Discussion on Demonetisation
Presented by Social

Celebrating our 68th Republic Day this year, there is, indeed, a lot that needs to be reflected upon. More importantly, the phenomena that has been the centre stone of change in the World’s 6th largest economy needs further discussion — a thorough run through of what the Industries, the Urban-working-class-millennial and the daily wage earners have experienced over the 79 days that have passed since Demonetisation (November 8th, 2016) and what can be expected starting the 80th day, especially, with the upcoming budget in mind.

A discussion, moderated by Aarti Mohan (Co-Founder, Sattva and Chief Editor, The Alternative),
with the following panelists —
Economist | Professor Charan Singh — Full time Visiting Faculty of Economics at IIM Bangalore and Former RBI Chair Professor Banking Representative
Mr. Amitabh Saxena — Former Vice President – Transformation at Deutsche Bank Group and Head – Continuous Improvement at Riyad Bank Microfinancing Representative
Mohit Charnalia — Co Founder and Director of MandiKraft and Vice President of Micrograam Marketplace Millennial Representative
Naman Paithankar — Entrepreneur, Former Senior Data Analyst, Chemical Engineering Graduate

Since its inception, Social as a brand has thrown its collective heft behind a single point agenda: to rally the country’s free thinkers and entrepreneurs under one roof and let the creative sparks fly, to form ground breaking business ideas, art projects and a host of bold endeavours fuelled by the spirit of collaboration – and some great food for thought.

For a generation where conversation is synonymous with WhatsApp and other forms of communications that are prevalent today, Social has built a thriving community in a corporate driven oasis, where creative spirits can connect and engage with each other to be Offline and have real, freewheeling conversations in an environment that naturally fosters creativity.

Get Offline is a series of event properties initiated by Social that’s meant to be a session where those in the know get to have a very candid and intimate conversation and discussion with the featured speakers on the topic in focus.

Having hosted noted tech entrepreneur and Member of Parliament (Rajya Sabha) Rajeev Chandrasekhar on a #GetOffline session, at Church Street Social, for a 90 min long freewheeling conversation, discussing critical issues like #NetNeutrality and #Startups on the same date last year, Social Offline re-engages in a formal interaction based on highly relevant current affairs of the country. With its latest green-house addition to the city, Koramangala Social, being the venue, this is a closed event with entry restricted to a few guests based on application.
Social aims to host a healthy analysis and forecast of Demonetisation with relevant opinions discussed from the perspectives of an Economist, a Lawyer, a Banker, a Microfinancer and an Urban citizen.
