Contemporary Dance, Live Musice and Ensemble Performance.

February 7, 2017

A Special Evening of Contemporary Dance, Live Musice and Ensemble Performance by Teams from Italy and Poland at Attakkalari India Biennial 2017

The performance Liquido from Italy sees the (im)possible dialogue that develops between the choreography of Luisa Cortesi and the live music arranged and played by trombonist Gianluca Petrella. The performance figures ways and meanings of existing outside the traditional understanding of a ‘solo’. After an intermission, a different performance by the Polish ensemble Zawirowania Dance Theatre ensues to ask many pertaining questions about interpersonal relations. The performance Closeness explores the questions of ‘who’ it is that one falls in love with- the person or the idea of a person.

Centre-Stage is the main attraction of the 10-day dance festival, presenting cutting-edge contemporary dance and digital performances from countries across the world like the Netherlands, France, Germany, Spain, Italy, Switzerland, Canada, Korea, Poland, South Africa, Finland, and India. The night will see these two dazzling performances unravelling at the iconic Ranga Shankara Theatre.
