Indian Institute of Cartoonists presents Exhibition of Cartoons and caricatures by James Vaz,

Mr.James Vaz born in Thirthahalli, Shivamogga Dist in 1959. Graduated in Arts from Sahyadhree College, Shivamogga. While studying fascinated towards cartoon drawings as a freelance cartoonist. His cartoons were published in almost all Kannada magazines in Karnataka. Later obtained DMC from Nirmala School of Arts in Hassan joinedas a drawing Master in St.Charl’s High School Bhadravathi. Responding to the call from Mr.Shanthosh Kumar Gulwadi, the editor of Taranga weekly joined as an Artist from Taranga Weekly Magazine at Manipal Media Network Ltd., in 1995.

Since then he has disigned more than 1000 cover pages for Taranga Weekly. Published more than 8000 cartoons and also Story Illustrations and Caricatures.

Mr.Vaz has won many State and National Awards in Mysore Dasara, Charlie Chaplin Competition, KSRTC Air Pollution, Forest Department Competitions, Shankars Weekly, Hindustan Times etc.,

One of his cartoons was published in Sports Humour, Italian International Magazine. He has conducted many Cartoon Exhibition and workshops in different parts of Karnataka.

Noted Kannada comedy actor Mr.Shivaram will be inaugurating the exhibition on 11th March at 11.30 AM.

Exhibition on view from from 11th March to 1st April 2017.
