George Orwell and the language of politics

March 27, 2017

George Orwell and the language of politics

“In a time of universal deceit – telling the truth is a revolutionary act.” – Orwell.

How do we define a lie in the times of alternative facts and post truth? Did Orwell’s 1984 refer to the exact time we are living in at present? Have political and technology leaders together assumed the role of our ‘Big Brother’? Are we ever going to get our freedom or the cycle of ‘who-rules-next-shall-exploit-next’ is going to run for eternity? Do our world leaders read books? If there is darkness, who is to be blamed? Us or them? If there is light, who is to be credited? Us or them? Who is us? Who is them? Are we just living Orwell’s imagery of the face getting stamped by boots for eternity?

Let’s come together. Discuss and deliberate. We are talking the language of politics with Orwellian thought as the backdrop

Bring your friends and family. It’s time we voters drive the political discourse of our society!
