Relationships in the age of Social Media

April 8, 2017

Relationships in the age of Social Media, Tinder and virtual porn
by The Mind Manifesto Society – Sly Granny’s Sunday Philosophy Club. A session hosted by Simran Mangharam.

Relationships have evolved or digressed depending on whom you speak to. New Yorkers feel equally lonely and independent whereas we keep hearing how marriage is extinct. Relationship councilors and divorce lawyers are minting money while tech dating companies cash their shares. So, in the midst of all this change along with free porn – what’s left of intimacy/companionship? Let’s get talking!

The host – Simran Magharam is the co founder and COO of floh, a curated platform that connects singles in real life at interactive events. She has interviewed over 40,000 singles and has deep insights into how the relationship landscape in India has changed over the last 5 years. Simran’s in MBTI certified Counsellor and writes a regular column on relationships.

The Mind Manifesto Society is Sly Granny’s Sunday Philosophy Club. Its focus is contemporary, stimulating issues for urban dwellers and seekers. A modern take on the Epicurean garden, the Mind Manifesto Society seeks smart people, who enjoy the art of debate, introspection and a bit of good wine! If you would like to know more about what goes on here please do enroll and recommend a friend as well. There is no membership fee. All we ask you is to be tuned in, and help us delve deeper.
