Exhibition of Watercolour paintings by M.R Anand

Group Captain M.R.Anand (b. 1965), winner of the Vayu Sena medal from the President of India (1989), painting has been a cherished hobby since childhood. After working with oil and acrylic, he has chosen to specialize in water colours and landscapes, but his portraits, though few, have also won wide acclaim. After graduation from the National Defence Academy (NDA), Khadakvasla, he joined the Air Force as helicopter pilot and later graduated with honours from the Montgomery , Alabama Staff College (USA). As a CAT A flying instructor, Air Force examiner and test pilot, he has clocked over 4,500 hours till date, undertaken assignments in Antarctica, Sri Lanka, and commanded a helicopter squadron in the North East of India(2003) and in a U.N. mission in Sudan (2008). In 2006 he earned a masters degree in Defence and Strategic Studies, and in 2010 also qualified for a MBA with distinction. Anand is now a helicopter test pilot with HAL (Bengaluru) and loves to pursue his hobby of painting in his spare time.

His debut show in Dec 2016 at Rangoli Metro Art Centre, Bengaluru was highly praised and has now enthused him to display his work at the ChitraKala Parishath.
