Panchatantra Retold – Three Stories With A Twist

This retelling of the Panchatantra is an exciting new exploration of the classic Panchatantra stories – the Blue Jackal, The Monkey and the Crocodile and The Monkey and the Wedge. Filled with shadow play, music, storytelling and physical theatre, this show will definitely excite you to revisit these stories if you have grown up reading them and is a great way to introduce children to the wonderful tales and characters of the Panchatantra.

Catch the show to find out how the Blue Jackal got blue, what happened to the mischievous monkey and whether the Crocodile managed to eat the Monkey’s heart.

About the Director
Rebecca Spurgeon is an Actor, Singer, Teacher and Director. She has a degree in English Literature from St. Xavier’s, Mumbai and has trained in Western Vocals and Western Classical Piano in Bangalore and Mumbai.

Rebecca began acting in 2005, performing at Thespo where she won twice for her role in Dattani’s Tara. Since then, she has acted in over 25 productions. Her recent productions include All About Women and The Worker’s Bible which she directed for the Jagriti Season 2015. When not on stage, Rebecca has handled stage and light design and has worked as Festival Director and Tour Manager.

She has also taught drama for over 5 years, and continues to volunteer as a curriculum consultant for a Rural school program. Rebecca Spurgeon currently works at Jagriti as Education Co-ordinator.
