Bangalore city is one of those rare petri dishes where culture seems to thrive by itself. Of course the IT/Pub – capitol tag is difficult to forget but that only seems to add to the charm of Bangalore culture. One can always count on finding an invite-only music performance in a stranger’s living room or walking into a gallery that on a regular day is really a design student’s house. Poetry seems to be the latest addition and Mouth of Word is the newest circus in town.

Daniel sukumar, Aishwarya Iyer, Pradeep Jagdish and Anagha Bharadwaj take stage to deliver some of their latest, thought provoking material at Mouth of Word’s first event at The Humming Tree. Anuj and Tori promise to bring out the best food and cocktails for the Unlimited F&B menu. The event organized by Mouth of Word will also host acoustic music and will be launching their first zine of poetry featuring poets from previous performances.

Mouth of Word is a catalyst for literary performances and publishing in India. The organization is doing this by curating and promoting the work of writers, poets and musicians, making it accessible to people via events, video, eBooks and print.

One evening in Goobe’s Book Republic after a book reading with Manu Joseph and some amazing poetry from local writers, Ravi, the bookstore owner, Minal, a writer and Pranav, a filmmaker sat down over chai to figure out why there existed a tremendous gap between local writers and audiences and Mouth of Word wants to be the answer to that.

Mouth of Word:
