Ateeta
Kannada Play
by Ananya, Bengaluru

PlayWright and Director: S.N.Sethuram

The perception of good and evil is a subject of culture. The concept of right and wrong according to law is a gift of civilization. The life of every human being floats itself along with the concepts of good and evil and its realization. One doesn’t bother about the judgments of these and starts living on only right and wrong concepts as one gets used to a comfortable living as the time passes.

The play starts with an act of a famous, retired lawyer writing his autobiography. As the incidents of life reveal themselves gradually one by one, there arises the dilemma. Sometimes, it seems like nothing is wrong according to laws, but at the same time question arises whether it is a good thing or evil. What is essential thing for an autobiography – is it the body or an eternal soul? The contemplation and dilemma of this is the play.
