“READINGS” Story Reading session by Thespians.

June 11, 2017

Bangalore International Centre (A TERI Initiative) is organising “READINGS” Story Reading session by Thespians.

At a time when new books are pouring out of the publishing house presses, Three prominent thespians of Bangalore, Arundhati Nag, Arundhati Raja and Ashish Sen have been invited to join BIC’s Stanley Pinto and each read us an excerpt of their favourite English story, fact or fiction. Naturally, they will bring an actor’s sense of drama and style to their readings.

The Thespians
Arundhati Nag, a multi-lingual film and theatre actress, and recipient of the Sangeet Natak Akademi Award (2008), the Padma Shri (2010) and the National Film Awards (2010) gave a much-needed fillip to the Bangalore theatre scene when she build Ranga Shankara, a theatre space dedicated to quality theatre in Bangalore.

Arundhati Raja, one of Bangalore’s most prominent theatre actors and directors, says she “believes in the implicit power of performance to transport audiences to different worlds, It is with this in mind that she and her actor/producer/director husband Jagdish built Jagriti, a Performance Arts Space dedicated to Theatre, Music, Dance and Comedy.

Ashish Sen, much-respected on the Bangalore theatre Circuit, has acted in and directed more than sixty productions. He is a regular at any and all theatre festivals in Bangalore.

Stanley Pinto, appears in a prominent play every five years, if only, as he puts it, to keep the myth that he is an actor alive.
