Bharathanatyam, the supreme Indian classical dance that involves – Rhythm, Rhyme and Expression, fascinated Yogesh Kumar S at a very young age. His passion & interest towards the art made him to take up dance (Bharatanatyam) as a career though he has graduated with Diploma in Mechanical Engineering.

Yogesh began his training under Guru. Smt. Brunda and currently he is being trained under Guru. Vidwan Sathyanarayana Raju, a world renowned exponent of Bharatanatyam.

With his consistent focus and rigorous training, he has completed Vidwat grade in Bharatanatyam from Karnataka Secondary Education and Visharada from Akhila Bharatha Gandarva Maha Vidyalaya, Miraj. He has been selected in the scheme of award of scholarship to young artistes under the different cultural fields, for the year 2015 – 2016 by CCRT under the ministry of culture. He is an acclaimed ‘B’ Grade artist of Dooradarshan & has received scholarship from Karnataka Sangeetha and Nirtya Academy. He has been declared as 2nd Best Dancer in the 28th Annual “SPIRIT OF YOUTH” festival of Music and Dance helad at Kasturi Srinivasan Hall, Music Academy Chennai.

With his keen ability to understand and imbibe the nuances of this beautiful art form and with his perseverance and dedication, he has traveled across India. He showcased his talent at various prestigious Utsavas & Sabhas. To name a few: Hampi Utsava, Lakundi Utsava, Common Wealth Games in Delhi – 2010, Kanaka Kavya Vaibhava in Dooradarshan, Nauka Charitam in Ananya Nrithyollasa – 2015 (choreography by Guru. Smt. Padmini Ravi), World Dance Day – 2014 at Sai Arts International, 27th International World Art Craft Mela, Bhadrachala Ramadasa Charitram, Krishna Premi in love & devotion, Santa Vani, Nayaka Nayaki Navarasa Navaratri – 2014, Over the recent years, yogesh has been a principal dancer with the prasidda reportery. he has performed extensively with team in their prime productions ‘silk sutra’ which was performed in Europe during 2016, Prasiddha Foundation’s 25th Year Celebration – Delhi, Guru Shishya Festival in Chandigarh, etc., He showcased his solo performances in many prestigious stages, to name a few: Natarajotsava 2016 held at Karnataka Nrithyakala Parishath, Natarajotsava 2016 held at Vasundara Performing Arts Centre, Mysore, Padams & Javalis Festival, Articulate Mysore Festival, Music Academy Chennai, World Dance Day 2016 – Shantala Arts Trust, etc.,

Yogesh has played the role of Sugreeva in one of the Exquisite Dance Ballet, which represents parts of the Kishkinda Kandam and Sundara Kandam which was choreographed by Smt. Anitha Guha, which was performed in Music Academy – Chennai & then in USA during Aug 2015.

Yogesh trains young dance aspirants and helps his Guru. Vid. Sathyanarayana Raju. Has also conducted lot of workshop, summer camps at Bala Bhavan and also choreographed several dances in many schools for Children’s Day Celebration, School Anniversary, etc.,

It is his sincere effort to delve further into this wonderful art of Bharathanatyam and preserve and propagate its pristine beauty.

He stormed the world of Bharathanatyam despite several obstacles, with enormous efforts, hard work, dedication and practice to be a complete artiste who is adored by audiences and critics alike. Over time Sathya has successfully made a mark in the world ofdance that was monopolized by the feminine gender

Sathyanarayana Raju diligently essays multi-faceted roles of a dancer, teacher and choreographer while training several students at his institute “Samskruthi- The Temple of Art”. Several of his students have gone on to receive much acclaim and continue to pursue dance under his tutelage. His unique style of choreography has won the hearts of many art connoisseurs, which has led him to consistently be commissioned to collaborate with leading South Asian dance artistes and theatre artiste.

Sathyanarayana Raju is an artiste who has always been driven by the passion he has for dance. His undiluted dedication to Arts over the years has been recognized by several institutions and his mantle has been adorned with a number of awards and accolades thus far including, Karnataka Kalashri by Karnataka Sangeetha Nruthya Academy foryear 2016-2017
