Abhinaya Rohan Having started her training in the South Indian Classical art form of Bharatanatyam at the tender age of 5,  Abhinaya was introduced to stage performances at a very young age by her first Gurus Smt. Mahalakshmi and Shri G Narendra who are graduates from the prestigious Kalakshetra Institute, Chennai.

During her growing up years in Chennai , Abhinaya has performed in venues such as Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan, Music Academy, Bharath Kalachar, Narada Gana Sabha etc in and other places such as Cochin, Madurai, Trichy, Coimbatore, Bangalore, Bombay, Trissur in India and countries like Indonesia and Singapore as well. On behalf of her school, she has independently choreographed and performed in programmes organized by the Government of Tamil Nadu on various occasions such as Independence day, Republic day celebrations, Annual Police meet etc. She
was one of the principal dancers in the ‘Avigna dance Ensemble’ of her Gurus in Chennai.

She is currently based in Bangalore and continuing her training under Smt Chitra Chandrasekhar Dasarathy, to gain deeper knowledge in the art form. She is also a part of the ‘Ameya Repertory’ founded by her Guru and has travelled to countries of Morocco and Senegal recently with the ensemble on an Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR) sponsored tour. She hopes to take up scholarly research in the subject of her choice in future too.

Being a Chartered Accountant and having a good academic track record, Abhinaya feels that dance has become a part of her life and has helped her groom herself in academics, spirituality, discipline and shaped her personality to who she is today. Having worked in big corporate like Deloitte and Goldman Sachs, she has gained a profound understanding of the tastes of current generation of spectators and has mastered the skill of presenting her art form to suit their levels without any compromise on the grammar and tradition of the classical style.

Abhinaya is currently working to establish her own dance school under the name ‘Kala Sadhan’ that teaches children to take up any art form of their choice as an important part of their lives along with the existing academic curriculum.
